Caroline had been enjoying the intimacy that two people could share, she thinks she can remember a time when she had read books perhaps not a precise time but the feeling of reading them, love stories she thinks they call them but this feeling she now found herself drowning in was not in these books that Caroline had recollection of. As that thought passed Caroline shook her head to find Nik besides her helping her to her feet, noticing that he too shook but with something different - anger. An anger she herself had felt when Kol had spoken to her earlier in the way that he had earlier. Standing together Caroline reached a hand out to cup his cheek, the gold band on her finger glistening from the moonlight that hung from above them both.
She could feel his fear as if it was her own, Caroline was certain now that this man was her husband and that she wished she could take that fear away. No matter what it took she would ensure he never look the way he did now again, Caroline wasn't sure how but she would do so even if it was the last thing she was ever to accomplish. With this promise in mind Caroline stroked a finger over his cheek. 'Please don't say that, never to me.' Pressing a kiss to his cheek he too made a promise she knew he would try his best to achieve. Before Caroline could comfort him some more she felt the air change as he was thrown out of her grasps and against a tree nearest to them. 'Nik!' She shrieked, a hand coming up to her mouth in both surprise at what had just happened and terror at whatever came next.
Feeling herself yet again being picked up by the waist and ran to a different place. Caroline let go once they arrived at the loud destination Kol had chosen, running an exasperated hand over her hair she shouted. 'Would people please stop doing that!' Turning around she came to face with a smirking Kol to which she couldn't help but blush and smirk at him in return. Taking a sip of the alcohol in her cup Caroline reluctantly let him lead the way.
